Celebrating The Dad’s With The Dad Pack

Aug 28, 2022Patrick Cole

We will never know what possesses a man on a Saturday morning, to stand in the cold blustery showers, ankle deep in mud, and shout some of life’s most obvious statements - “tackle!”, “kick it!” or “run!”. Haha, in recent years it’s been the rewards of a coffee truck flat white but there is more to it than that. Kiwi dads have loved their kids for generations.

For nearly all of us, the dream of getting on the ball in front of 65,000 screaming fans at Eden Park will remain just that, a dream. However, we can all remember those rainy Saturdays when the ball suddenly arrived in our hands and the side-line erupted with encouragement. “Run? Dad, have you seen the size of this dude?” and boom! The rite of passage that every Kiwi youngie remembers – the taste of mud immediately after we come second in the tackle contest. We get up, clean the pipes and look across to see Dad, glowing with pride and encouragement and hoping his next command is not “tackle!”.

Dads do crazy things for us because they love us. It’s in our DNA, that’s what their dad did when they were knee-high and that's surely what I’m gonna do if I ever get the chance. Dad’s do it because they love us. And how choice is that?

We’ve created the Dad Pack for this Father’s Day to give you a chance to say thanks for all the things that Dad (and Mum) have done throughout your life. Really? Nah, we’re a 100% Kiwi brand, we’re not the marketing department from Switzerland. That said, the Dad Pack is a nice idea.

With the Dad Pack you’ve got something to send Dad this Father's Day. Something to say “good on you mate. Happy Father’s Day”. We reckon he’ll appreciate that.

Just resist the temptation when you hand it over to shout “Drink It!”
